RSS is here

This is a tiny and likely useless update, but I figure it may be worth announcing that I’ve added an RSS feed to my site at chard.ooo/rss. This ancient technology will make it a little easier for computer programs to determine what, and when, I’ve posted.

So, if you’re the kind of person who wants notifications, you’re now free to use something like Zapier or IFTTT or some ChatGPT-authored Python script to send yourself an email or a text or a push notification whenever I post.

If you happen to be among the dwindling number of humans who still like to write code, you may find it interesting that I’ve set this up using a pre-rendered SvelteKit server route that builds a feed of all of my published posts using this handy NPM module. I did initially ask ChatGPT to write all this code for me, but GPT-4 seems to have been trained on out-of-date SvelteKit docs and was also very incorrect in its usage of the RSS module. Another win for the fleshy ones!

Ok, that’s all. Goodbye!
